About The Founder
Garth Haslem is a Utah certified structural engineer. He was certified as a professional engineer (PE) in 1991 and began work as a home & structural inspector in 1993. It’s been a few years – lots of experience makes you lots of old sometimes.
Doing this kind of work is rewarding because he can leave the office, meet people and wear tennis shoes. He’s not a suit and tie sort of guy. He loves doing this because he gets to meet people and make a difference for them, one on one.
Garth graduated from Orem High in 1978 and from BYU in 1984 with a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. He added a master’s degree in 1985.
Garth grew up in the foothills of Orem, Utah. He spent his summers eating pink cherries and playing with his dog. During the school year, Garth was on the chess team and on the high school radio station – KOHS. Garth was and is forever a nerd, but sometimes you need a nerd to check out your structure. He’s pretty good at that.

Let’s face it: Phone and text is better. Everyone’s gmail is full of spam and it’s a chore to clean up your email. Here’s a life question: What is worse than spending an hour to get your email all taken care of, then you wait a day and it’s all back? Personally, we’d rather search a crawl space than clean up our email.
So… if you want to reach us, call or text. If you’d like to wait? Then definitely – email us. ghaslem@gmail.com.
